Event-Driven Architecture

In an event-driven system, applications publish events such as an order being created or a payment being completed. Other services can react independently, which reduces tight coupling and supports scalable workflows, asynchronous processing, integrations, and real-time automation. The concept gives engineers a way to reason about tradeoffs between reliability, performance, consistency, coupling, operational cost, and development speed.
