Webhook

Webhooks let applications react to events without repeatedly polling for changes. A system can send a payload when something happens—such as a payment, form submission, or record update—allowing downstream services to trigger integrations or automated workflows. It matters because modern applications rarely operate alone; they exchange data and actions with internal services, third-party platforms, databases, and automated workflows.
