HomeGlossary

WebSocket

Unlike traditional request-response HTTP, WebSockets keep a connection open so either side can send data when needed. They are commonly used for chat, live dashboards, notifications, collaborative interfaces, streaming status updates, and other low-latency web experiences. In production websites and applications, it often interacts with performance, accessibility, APIs, caching, rendering strategy, and deployment architecture.
